Germany to expand support for Nepal’s economic progress

10, Kathmandu, German Ambassador to Nepal Matthias Meyer on Tuesday
said the German government was committed to expanding support to Nepal
in its efforts for economic prosperity.
In
a meeting with Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce of Industry
(FNCCI) President Pradeep Jung Pandey here, ambassador Meyer noted the
gradual improvement of environment conducive to investment and economic
activities and said the German government was eager to expanding the
support threshold.
The
German envoy also said with the quick end to the current political
instability it would facilitate attracting investment and technology to
the country citing German investors wanted a confidential environment.
The
envoy further expressed commitment to lend utmost support if a suitable
and trustworthy proposal were to come from FNCCI for production of
capable manpower.
On
the occasion, FNCCI President Pandey underlined Federation’s
expectation for enhancing Nepal-Germany relations and bilateral trade
and investment and expansion of mutual support for development in
tourism and technology sectors.
Pandey
stressed on development of hydro power sector, infrastructure,
commercial agriculture, tourism and production of skilled manpower.
Reminiscent
of the market acquired by Nepali garment, readymade clothing and
handicraft works in Germany and European countries in the past, the
FNCCI President underlined betterment of the quality of foregoing
products while appealing for support in supplying Nepal’s herbal tea,
ginger and cardamom. RSS
